Home Repair An important ministry is the home repair initiative. The Home Repair Initiative utilizes the labor of persons involved in short term missions, including VIM, NOMAD, and various church and youth groups to carry out much needed repairs on homes in the Pharr area. Repairs range from extensive structural repairs to minor improvements such as installing handicap ramps or handrails. ....read more

Feeding Ministry The feeding ministry of the church includes a food pantry that serves between 75 and 80 families per week and a summer feeding program that provides a nutritious hot lunch free of charge to children between the ages of 1-128 years of age. Colonia Outreach Considering a short-term mission trip for your group? The Rio Grande Valley of South Texas and Northern Mexico provides ample opportunities for meaningful service. Hidalgo County, Texas, home of the Pharr United Methodist Church has the highest poverty rate of any county in the United States. Sixty percent of adults living in this area do not have a high school education. Many live in substandard housing and few have access to adequate health care. ....read more
